Oil Cooler: Installation

1 - WATER PUMP AND HOUSING ASSEMBLY
2 - COOLANT HOSE
3 - ENGINE OIL COOLER
4 - GASKET
  1. Clean all engine mating surfaces.
  2. Position the oil cooler and gasket. Install the fasteners and tighten to 10.8 N.m (96 in. lbs.). See Fig 1.
  3. Install the water pump housing assembly with new gasket. Tighten fasteners to 24.5 N.m (18 ft. lbs.). See Fig 1.
  4. Install the oil cooler coolant hose.
  5. Install the power steering reservoir.
  6. Install heater hoses at housing.
  7. Install lower radiator hose at housing.
  8. Install the charge air hose.
  9. Install coolant reservoir and hoses.
  10. Install air cleaner assembly (Refer to ENGINE/AIR INTAKE SYSTEM/AIR CLEANER HOUSING - INSTALLATION) .
  11. Fill the coolant system
  12. Connect the negative battery cable
  13. Start engine, run until warm, turn the engine off, and inspect for leaks.
