Support Plate: Removal

  1. Remove wheel and tire assembly.
  2. Remove the disc brake caliper (Refer to BRAKES/HYDRAULIC/MECHANICAL/DISC BRAKE CALIPERS - REMOVAL) .
  3. Remove the rotor, (Refer to BRAKES/HYDRAULIC/MECHANICAL/ROTORS - REMOVAL) .
  4. Remove the axle shaft. See Fig 1. (Refer to REMOVAL ).

    1 - SUPPORT PLATE
    2 - PARK BRAKE SHOES
    3 - EQUALIZER
    4 - SPRINGS
    5 - HOLD DOWN CLIPS
    6 - ADJUSTER
  5. Remove the park brake shoes (2). See Fig 1, (Refer to BRAKES/PARKING BRAKE/SHOES - REMOVAL) .
  6. Remove the parking brake cable from the brake lever.
  7. Remove the bolts attaching the support plate (1) to the axle and remove the support plate (1).
