High Beam Indicator Test
NOTE:
This procedure is for symptom of inoperative high beam indicator. Testing assumes headlights are operating properly. For additional indicator diagnosis, see SYMPTOM IDENTIFICATION
table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Reconnect negative battery cable. Turn ignition on.
- Turn headlights on. Select high beams. Using DVOM, check for battery voltage at instrument cluster connector C1 terminal No. 3 (Red/Gray wire). See Figure . If battery voltage is present, replace instrument cluster. If battery voltage is not present, repair open in Red/Gray or Red/Orange wire between instrument cluster and multifunction switch connector terminal No. 17. See Figure .
