FOGLIGHT Indicator Test

NOTE: This procedure is for symptom of inoperative foglight indicator. Testing assumes foglights are operating properly. For additional indicator diagnosis, see SYMPTOM IDENTIFICATION  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Reconnect negative battery cable. Turn ignition on.
  2. Turn foglights on. Using DVOM connected to ground, check for battery voltage at instrument cluster C1 terminal No. 6 (Light Blue wire). See Figure . If battery voltage is indicated, replace instrument cluster. If battery voltage is not indicated, repair open in Light Blue wire between instrument cluster and foglight relay terminal B19. See Figure . Fog light relay is located in Power Distribution Center (PDC) located in engine compartment. See HEADLIGHTS in SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article in ELECTRICAL.
