Abs Indicator Light Test
NOTE:

- If Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) warning light stays on all the time, a system malfunction is present and trouble code will be stored. For ABS testing, see appropriate ANTI-LOCK article in BRAKES.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Reconnect negative battery cable. Turn ignition on and, within about 2 seconds, check continuity between ground and instrument cluster connector C2 terminal No. 8 (Light Green/Orange wire). See Fig 1 . Continuity should exist for about 2 seconds after ignition is turned on, and then circuit should go open. If continuity is not as specified, go to next step. If continuity is as specified, diagnose ABS. See appropriate ANTI-LOCK article in BRAKES.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove ABS relay from Power Distribution Center (PDC). See Fig 2 . Using DVOM, check continuity between ground and instrument cluster connector C2 terminal No. 8 (Light Green/Orange wire). If continuity is not present, go to next step. If continuity is present, locate and repair short to ground in Light Green/Orange wire between instrument cluster and ABS relay.
- Check continuity of Light Green/Orange wire between instrument cluster connector C2 terminal No. 8 and ABS relay connector terminal B6. If continuity is not present, repair open in Light Green/Orange wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If continuity is present, diagnose ABS. See appropriate ANTI-LOCK article in BRAKES.
