Test 11A: Warning Lamp Open (Active Code)

NOTE: Perform TEST VER-2A: BODY VERIFICATION TEST  after all repairs. Each time a connector is disconnected, inspect it to ensure it is in good condition. Always focus on circuit being tested. Dirt, water and corrosion, are most common problems in connectors.
  1. Using DRB, select PASSIVE RESTRAINTS, select AIRBAG, select MONITOR DISPLAY, select WARNING LAMP STATUS. Read MIC BULB STATE. If DRB displays MIC BULB STATE: OK, go to next step. If DRB does not display MIC BULB STATE: OK, go to step  4 .
  2. If DRB displays, MIC DRIVER STATE: OK, go to next step. If DRB does not display, MIC DRIVER STATE: OK, go to step  4 .
  3. Turn ignition off and wait 5 seconds. Turn ignition on and observe AIR BAG warning light. If AIR BAG warning light illuminated for 6-8 second bulb check and no potential causes remain, replace ACM. If AIR BAG warning light did not illuminated for 6-8 second bulb check, replace instrument cluster.
  4. Remove instrument cluster. Remove and inspect AIR BAG warning light bulb. If bulb is okay, replace instrument cluster. If bulb is defective, replace bulb.
