Test TC-11B - No Vehicle Speed Sensor Signal

- Turn ignition off. Disconnect VSS connector. Inspect vehicle speed sensor connector for damaged or pushed out terminals. Repair as necessary. Perform TEST VER-2. If VSS connector terminals are okay, go to next step.
- Turn ignition on. Put DRB in voltmeter mode. Using DRB, check voltage on VSS connector Orange wire. If voltage is less than 7 volts, repair open in appropriate wire. Perform TEST VER-2.
- If voltage is more than 7 volts, using DRB, check VSS connector White/Orange wire. If voltage is less than 4 volts, go to TEST TC-11D . If voltage is more than 4 volts, connect a jumper wire to VSS connector White/Orange wire.
- Using DRB, read VSS signal. While observing DRB display, touch other end of jumper wire to VSS connector Black/Light Blue wire. If DRB displayed more than zero MPH, go to next step. If DRB did not display more than zero MPH, go to TEST TC-11E .
- Remove VSS from vehicle. Inspect speedometer pinion gear. If speedometer pinion gear is damaged, replace pinion gear. Perform TEST VER-2 . If speedometer pinion gear is not damaged, replace VSS. Perform TEST VER-2.
