Chrysler Diagnostic Readout Box (DRB) Method

- Ensure ignition is off. Connect DRB to 6-pin data link connector, located behind instrument panel on passenger's side of steering column. See Fig 1
.
- Enter diagnostics. See TEST 1A - ENTERING DIAGNOSTIC TEST
under DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE TESTS. This will check operation of scan tool and system.
- If error message is displayed, see manufacturer's instructions. If no error message is displayed, retrieve DTCs using scan tool manufacturer's instructions. Note DTC. The DRB will display the DTC along with a message of ACTIVE or STORED. When more than one DTC is displayed, trouble shooting priority should be given to the ACTIVE trouble codes.
- There are 2 types of DTCs, ACTIVE or STORED. An ACTIVE DTC indicates that the problem currently exists. A STORED DTC indicates that the problem does not currently exist. This is an intermittent problem usually caused by wiring or connector problems. Using scan tool, display all DTCs. To identify DTCs, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION
