Test 6A - Left Rear Sensor Circuit Failure

NOTE: Perform TEST 1A - CHECKING SYSTEM FOR DTCS  before proceeding.
  1. Using scan tool, erase DTCs. Turn ignition off, then on. Using scan tool, read DTCs. If DTC returns, go to step 4. If DTC does not return, go to next step.
  2. Conditions required to set DTC are not present at this time. All SENSOR CIRCUIT FAILURE DTCs set if CAB detects an open or short in wheel speed sensor circuit. Possible causes are: open or shorted wheel speed sensor, open or shorted wheel speed sensor circuit, corrosion on wheel speed sensor connector, damaged wheel speed sensor harness, intermittent open or short wheel speed sensor circuit or CAB failure. Go to next step.
  3. Inspect all related wiring and connectors and repair as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION TEST  . If no problems are found with wiring and connectors, have an assistant wiggle wiring harness from CAB to each wheel speed sensor. If a DTC appears, repair as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1A.
  4. Inspect left rear wheel speed sensor and connector for obvious damage. Repair as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION TEST  . If wheel speed sensor and connector are okay, go to next step.
  5. Turn ignition off. Disconnect left rear wheel speed sensor connector. To access wheel speed sensor connector, remove rear seat. Inspect wheel speed sensor connector for damaged or pushed out terminals. Repair connector as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION TEST  . If terminals are okay, go to next step.
  6. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance across wheel speed sensor. If resistance is 900-1300 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, replace wheel speed sensor. Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION TEST  .
  7. Check resistance between either wheel speed sensor terminal and ground. If resistance is 15,000 ohms or more, go to next step. If resistance is less than 15,000 ohms, replace wheel speed sensor. Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION TEST  .
  8. Disconnect Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB) connector. CAB is located near air cleaner housing. Inspect connector for damaged or pushed out terminals. Repair connector as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION TEST  . If terminals are okay, go to next step.
  9. Check resistance between CAB connector terminal No. 10 (Light Green wire) and ground. If resistance is 15,000 ohms or more, go to next step. If resistance is less than 15,000 ohms, repair short to ground in Light Green wire.
  10. Check resistance between CAB connector terminal No. 2 (Light Green/Dark Blue wire) and ground. If resistance is 15,000 ohms or more, go to next step. If resistance is less than 15,000 ohms, repair short to ground in Light Green/Dark Blue wire.
  11. Connect a jumper wire between wheel speed sensor connector Light Green wire and ground. Check resistance between CAB connector terminals No. 10 and No. 8 (Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open Light Green wire. Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION TEST  .
  12. Move jumper wire from Light Green wire to Light Green/Dark Blue wire at wheel speed sensor connector. Check resistance between CAB connector terminals No. 2 and No. 8 If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace CAB. Perform TEST VER-1A. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open Light Green/Dark Blue wire. Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION TEST  .
