Test 21A - No Response

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Perform TEST 1A before proceeding.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB) connector. CAB is located near air cleaner housing. Inspect CAB connector for any damaged or pushed out terminals. Repair connector as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION TEST  . If terminals are okay, go to next step.
  2. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and CAB connector ground terminals No. 8 and No. 24 (Black wires). If resistance is less than 10 ohms on both circuits, go to next step. If resistance is 10 ohms or more, repair open ground circuit(s). Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION TEST  .
  3. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on CAB connector terminal No. 9 (Red/Dark Blue wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, perform TEST 21B - NO RESPONSE  .
  4. Check voltage on CAB connector terminal No. 23 (Dark Blue/White wire). If voltage is 10 volts or less, go to next step. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to step 7).
  5. Inspect fuse No. 11, in junction block. See Fig 1 . If fuse is blown, go to next step. If fuse is okay, repair open in fused ignition switch output circuit (Dark Blue/White wire). Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION TEST  .

  6. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between CAB connector terminal No. 23 (Dark Blue/White wire) and battery ground terminal. If resistance is less than 50 ohms, repair short to ground in Dark Blue/White wire. Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION TEST  . If resistance is 50 ohms or more, replace faulty ABS/HEVAC fuse or fuse No. 11. Perform TEST VER-1A.
  7. Check voltage on CAB connector terminal No. 20 (Black/Pink wire). If voltage is 4 volts or less, go to next step. If voltage is more than 4 volts, replace CAB. Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION TEST  .
  8. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM connector. Inspect PCM connector for any damaged or pushed out terminals. Repair connector as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION TEST  . If terminals are okay, go to next step.
  9. Check voltage on CAB connector terminal No. 20 (Black/Pink wire). If voltage is 4 volts or less, go to next step. If voltage is more than 4 volts, replace PCM. Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION TEST  .
  10. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and CAB connector terminals No. 20 and No. 24 (Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Pink wire or Black/Pink wire. Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION TEST  . If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open Pink wire or Black/Pink wire between CAB and DLC. Perform TEST VER-1A.
