Test 3A - Repairing Security Light Flashing Constantly

Perform TEST 1A
before proceeding.
- Turn ignition switch off. Disconnect VTA module. See Figure in TEST 1A and see VEHICLE THEFT ALARM MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Inspect connector, clean and repair as needed. Connect DRB to data link connector and turn ignition on. Using DRB in voltmeter mode, check voltage at VTA module connector terminal No. 5 (Pink/Orange wire). If voltage is less than one volt, replace VTA module. Perform TEST VER-1A . If voltage is more than one volt, disconnect Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module and go to next step. See Fig 1 .
- Using DRB in voltmeter mode, check voltage at VTA module connector terminal No. 5 (Pink/Orange wire). If voltage is more than one volt, repair short to voltage in Pink/Orange wire circuit between VTA module connector and RKE module. Perform TEST VER-1A . If voltage is less than one volt, replace RKE module. Perform TEST VER-1A .
