Test 12A - Repairing Door Switch Lock Sense Circuit

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see Figure .

NOTE: Perform TEST 1A before proceeding.

Ensure power doors locks are functioning properly. Repair door locks that are not functioning properly. Turn ignition off. Disconnect the VTA module. See Figure in TEST 1A. Also, refer to VEHICLE THEFT ALARM MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Inspect connector, clean and repair as needed and go to next step.
Using DRB in voltmeter mode, check voltage at VTA module connector terminal No. 17 (Orange/Violet wire). While measuring voltage, push power lock switch to LOCK position and hold. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace the VTA module. Refer to VEHICLE THEFT ALARM MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform TEST VER-1A. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open lock switch LOCK sense circuit (Orange/Violet wire). Perform TEST VER-1A .
