Road Test

  1. Before road testing, make sure fluid level and linkage adjustments have been checked and corrected as needed. During test, transmission should upshift/downshift at approximate speeds shown in the SHIFT SPEEDS & GOVERNOR PRESSURES  .
  2. Exact speeds will vary somewhat from one vehicle to another. This is due to differences in production tolerances, rear axle ratio and tire size. Of greater importance than shift speed is quality of shifts. All shifts should be smooth and responsive with no slipping or engine speed flare-up.
