Pinpoint Test C: Switch Test

- C1: SWITCH TEST
- Check the vehicle specification for power operating tailgate.
Does the vehicle specification include power operating tailgate?
Yes : GO to C2.
No : No further action required, refer the customer to Jaguar Land Rover owner information and explain that the function is not installed.
- C2: SWITCH TEST NOTE: Do Not clear any Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) - No parts are to be replaced without first isolating the failure mode.
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, check all Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) related to the RGTM and the BCM
Are there any Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) set in the RGTM ?
Yes : GO to PINPOINT TEST B .
No : GO to C3.
- C3: SWITCH TEST
- Refer to the appropriate electrical circuit diagrams and check the tailgate switch circuits for short circuit to ground, short circuit to power, open circuit, high resistance.
Were any faults found?
Yes : Repair the wiring harness as necessary and retest.
No : GO to PINPOINT TEST D .
