WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 Jaguar I-Pace. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. I1: POWER TAILGATE ANTI-TRAP SENSOR TESTING
    1. Inspect the installation of the anti-trap sensors to the tailgate.

Are all of the clips fully engaged and the sensor securely located?

    Yes  : GO to  I2.

No  : If possible re-seat the anti-trap sensor correctly and check for correct operation. If not possible, install a new anti-trap sensor as necessary.

  2. I2: POWER TAILGATE ANTI-TRAP SENSOR TESTING
    1. Manually close the tailgate while carefully inspecting the anti-trap sensors do not become obstructed by any part of the vehicle during the closing operation.

    Does an obstruction occur?

Yes  : Rectify the obstruction and retest the system.

    No  : GO to  I3.

  3. I3: POWER TAILGATE ANTI-TRAP SENSOR TESTING
    1. Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, check live data signal - Anti Pinch seals voltage (0xD902) when the tailgate is open and closed.

Does the signal indicate the sensor is activated when a close is initiated?

    Yes  : GO to  I4.

No  : GO to PINPOINT TEST F .

  4. I4: POWER TAILGATE ANTI-TRAP SENSOR TESTING
    1. Inspect the anti-trap sensors on both sides of the tailgate for any damage.

Is there evidence of any damage to the sensors such as breaks to the surface?

Yes  : Install a new anti-trap sensor as necessary.

    No  : GO to  I5.

  5. I5: POWER TAILGATE ANTI-TRAP SENSOR TESTING
    1. Refer to the appropriate electrical circuit diagrams and check the anti-trap circuit for short circuit to ground, short circuit to power, open circuit, high resistance.

Are there any electrical circuit faults?

Yes  : Repair the wiring harness as necessary.

No  : Contact Jaguar Land Rover Technical Assistance with all of the above findings and information.
