Roof Opening Panel Frame (G1851640): Installation

  1. CAUTION: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.

    Remove all residual adhesives from the mating faces.

  2. CAUTION: Make sure you are using new roof opening panel spacers positioned on the correct locations.
    NOTE: This step only applies if the original component is installed.

    Install the 6 new roof opening panel spacers.

    Renew Part: Roof opening panel frame fitting kit  Quantity: 1  .

    Apply an 8 mm wide, 12 mm high bead of adhesive to the position illustrated.

    Renew Part: Glass bonding adhesive kit  Quantity: 1  .

  4. NOTE: This step requires the aid of another technician.

    Make sure the alignment pins are located in the correct position when installing the frame assembly to the vehicle.

    • Install the roof opening panel frame assembly.
    • Test the sealer for leaks, apply additional sealer if necessary. If water is used, allow sealer to dry before testing. Spray water around the glass and check for leaks. Mark any area that leaks. Dry the glass and sealer then apply additional sealer.
  6. CAUTION:
    • The vehicle must remain stationary during the adhesive curing period.
    • The vehicle must remain in the workshop for at least 8 hours after the adhesive is applied.

    Check the gap around is even and the roof opening panel frame is flush with the roof panel as illustrated.

  7. Install the roof mouldings.
  8. Install the A-pillar outer finishers.
  9. Connect the roof opening panel electrical connector.
  10. NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.

    Install the side air curtain module.

  11. Connect the startup battery ground cable.

    Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
