Steering Wheel (G1817753): Installation

  1. NOTE: Only complete steps 1-6 if previously removed.

    Connect the electrical connector and install the steering wheel wiring harness.

  2. Install the airbag retaining bracket and tighten the 3 bolts to the correct torque.

    Torque  : 6Nm 

  3. NOTE:
    • If equipped.
    • Repeat this step for both paddle shifters.

    Connect the paddle shifter electrical connector.

  4. NOTE:
    • If equipped.
    • Repeat this step for both paddle shifters.

    Install the paddle shifter and tighten the screw to the correct torque.

    Torque  : 2.5Nm 

  5. Connect the steering wheel switchpack electrical connector and install the steering wheel switchpack.
  6. Install the lower trim.
  7. CAUTION: Make sure that the clockspring rotor does not rotate.
    • Remove the tape from the clockspring.
    • Install the steering wheel to the steering column.
    • Tighten the bolt to the correct torque.

      Torque  : 48Nm 

    • Connect the 2 electrical connectors.
  8. Install the driver air bag module.

  9. Connect the startup battery ground cable.

    Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
