DTC P026A-85: Charge Air Cooler Efficiency Below Threshold - Signal above allowable range: Action
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 Jaguar XE. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
To validate the repair, clear the DTCs and perform a road test that consists of three drive cycles (engine on/off).
- Vehicle Conditions to enable DTC Logging Strategy
- Run vehicle above 40km/h for at least 4 minutes, engine temperature greater than 50 degrees and no other charge air cooler pump faults
- Prioritized Checks to Perform
- Inspect the cooling system for leaks or damage. Rectify as necessary
- Inspect the coolant pipes for blockages, damage and correct routing. Make sure the coolant is circulating correctly. Rectify as necessary
- Inspect the charge air cooler system for air ingress. Rectify as necessary
- Inspect the charge air cooler for blockages airside and damage. Rectify as necessary
- Inspect the charge air radiator for blockages (External) and damage. Rectify as necessary
- If the fault persists, inspect the charge air cooler pump for blockages, damage or restriction. Rectify as necessary
- Top up the coolant system expansion tank. Make sure the level is at maximum when the coolant is cold
- Refer to the relevant service information and complete the cooling system filling and bleeding procedure. Check for expelled air during the bleeding process
- If P026E-7B was present following the system filling bleeding procedure, clear the DTC and run the charge air cooler pump for 5 minutes. Make sure P026E-7B does not re-set
- Allow the system to cool and top up the coolant level to maximum
- To validate the repair, clear the DTCs and perform a road test that consists of three drive cycles (engine on/off) If all air has been removed from the circuit (as indicated by coolant visible at all bleed points) and DTC P026E-7B or P026A-85 are present - replace the pump and refill and bleed system
