Rattling Noise From The Rear Exhaust

- Check for contact between the rear exhaust NVH mass damper and the rear exhaust heatshield. Check for movement of the NVH mass damper caused by a loose bolt and/or a deteriorated NVH mass damper rubber
- Remove and discard the exhaust NVH
mass damper and bolt. REFER to:
Exhaust System - Ingenium I4 2.0L Diesel - Removal and Installation - NVH Damper
- Install a new NVH
mass damper to the rear exhaust. REFER to:
Exhaust System - Ingenium I4 2.0L Diesel - Removal and Installation - NVH DAMPER
- Measure the gap between the new NVH
mass damper and the exhaust heat shield.
- Reposition the heatshield away from the exhaust NVH mass damper towards the duck's foot NOT towards the exhaust silencer.
NOTE:
Make sure there is a gap of 20 mm
