Sanding Scratches: Description

Parallel scratch marks or fine dark lines apparent only in the basecoat color, following the direction and extent of the manual flatting operation. The severity and effect depends on the location and direction of view (i.e. the lines may not be apparent when viewed directly into the paint film).
