Driver Airbag

The driver airbag forms the center pad of the steering wheel. It provides head and chest protection for the drive when deployed during a front or rear impact.
Lines, molded into the inner surface of the airbag cover, provide weak points that split open in a controlled manner when the airbag deploys. The driver airbag has a two stage inflator, with separate electrical connectors on each stage.
