Transfer Case Rear Output Seal (G1569233): Installation

CAUTION: Oil seals must be installed dry.
- Clean the seal register.
- Special Tool(s): JLR-205-1001, 307-520
CAUTION: Install a new output flange.
CAUTION: Install a new O-ring seal.
Select and install the smallest shim available.
NOTE: The measured end-float tolerance for the rear output shaft is between 0.16mm and 0.3mm.
1. Use the following formula to calculate the required shim thickness:
- A = Measured clearance
- B = Selected shim thickness
- C = A+B
- C-0.16mm = Shim size required

Select the required shim.

Connect the battery ground cable.
