Convertible Model Safety Precautions

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 12 other vehicles, including the 2015 Jaguar XKR-S, 2015 Jaguar XKR, 2015 Jaguar XK, 2014 Jaguar XKR-S, and 2014 Jaguar XKR. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
WARNING: RISK OF INJURY. KEEP HANDS AND FINGERS CLEAR OF THE DOOR WINDOW AND CONVERTIBLE TOP WHEN ACCESSING THE VEHICLE, OR OPERATING THE CONVERTIBLE TOP. INADVERTENT WINDOW MOVEMENTS WILL OCCUR AS SOON AS A DOOR HANDLE IS PULLED OR THE CONVERTIBLE TOP IS OPERATED.
CAUTION: Damage to vehicle. Make sure the side windows one touch/anti-trap function is calibrated before operating the convertible top. Failure to reset the windows function may result in damage to the convertible top or window glazing when the convertible top operates.

Make sure the side windows one-touch/anti-trap function is calibrated before operating the convertible top (refer to 'PREPARATION - WINDOW ANTI-TRAP FEATURE ' for details of window calibration).

Care must be taken when gaining access into the convertible model. Avoid placing fingers, hands or items near the side and rear quarter windows, and the convertible top. The side and rear quarter windows are programmed to react automatically when either the door handle is pulled to access the vehicle, or when the convertible top is operated.

The side windows will immediately lower (sufficiently to clear the roof to window seal channel) as soon as a door handle is pulled, and will immediately raise to the fully closed position on door closing.

The rear quarter and side windows will immediately lower to the fully open position as soon as the convertible top is opening, and will immediately close as soon as the convertible top is closed.

CAUTION: Damage to vehicle. Make sure the convertible top transportation cover is removed prior to fully opening the convertible top. Failure to remove the transportation cover will result in damage to the convertible top and carrier mechanism.

The vehicle is delivered with a transportation cover installed to the convertible top.

The transportation cover MUST  be removed before conducting a functional test of the convertible top. The convertible top is to be operated to open the carrier mechanism to the central position, with the tonneau panel still closed and latched. In this position, the transportation cover is able to be removed without damage to the convertible top.

Opening the convertible top fully with the transportation cover installed will cause damage to the convertible top and carrier mechanism.

Refer to 'STANDARD CHECKS: FUNCTIONAL - CONVERTIBLE TOP ' for further details.
