Rear Brake Disc RUNOUT Check - With Wheel On (G1508847)

NOTE:
- Some variation in the illustrations may occur, but the essential information is always correct.
- RH illustration shown, LH similar.
- All measurements must be taken with the wheel installed.
WARNING: Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.

Raise the rear of the vehicle.
Modify tool 100-053 with an M8 bolt and nut as shown.
Mount the DTI Dial Test Indicator (DTI) gauge on the tool as shown.
Securely mount the DTI on the bottom calliper mounting bolt, a spacer washer maybe required under the tool.
Position the DTI probe 5 mm from the outer edge of the disc.

Zero DTI and rotate road wheel one complete revolution to measure disc runout.
Position the DTI probe in the centre of the disc.

Zero DTI and rotate road wheel one complete revolution to measure disc runout.
Position the DTI probe 5 mm from the inner edge of the disc.

Zero DTI and rotate road wheel one complete revolution to measure disc runout.
NOTE: The disc runout limit is 0.09 mm.

If the disc runout exceeds the limit check the hub drive flange and bearing runout.

If hub runout is within the limit replace the brake disc.
Install the wheel.

Tighten the road wheel nuts in sequence as shown to the following:

Stage 1: 4 Nm.

Stage 2: 60 Nm.

Stage 3: 125 Nm.
Re-check the disc runout as detailed above.
Remove DTI and install the bolt. 103 Nm.
