Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Isuzu i-370, 2007 GMC Canyon, and 2007 Chevrolet Colorado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the transfer case assembly. Refer to Transfer Case Assembly Replacement .

  3. Install the J 45759  to the transfer case, using 4 suitable bolts. See Special Tools .

  5. Mount the J 3289-20  (1) to a sturdy workbench.
  6. Install the J 45759  (2), with the transfer case, into the J 3289-20  (1) and secure with the pivot pin. See Special Tools .

    IMPORTANT:
    • There is no shoulder to prevent the seal from going into the transfer case.
    • Turn, and hold the J 45278  (2) under the seal for removal. See Special Tools .
  8. Using the J 23907  (1) and J 45278  (2) remove the input shaft seal from the transfer case. See Special Tools .

    Discard the seal.
