3: This step determines if the neutral switch is causing the symptom.
4: This step determines if an open neutral signal circuit is causing the symptom.

Accessory Switch Transfer Case Mode Indicator Flashes in 4WD High, 4WD Low, and 2WD Modes

1	Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?	Go to Step 2	Go to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle
2	Set the parking brake. Turn the ignition ON with the engine OFF. Place the transmission into neutral. Shift the vehicle to 2WD, 4WD High, and 4WD Low. Do each of the mode indicators flash in each of the three modes?	Go to Step 3	Go to Symptoms - Transfer Case
3	Lift the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle . Disconnect the transfer case neutral switch. Shift the transfer case into 2WD, 4WD High, and 4WD Low. Does the indicator continue to flash in all three modes?	Go to Step 4	Go to Step 5
4	Disconnect connector C2 at the transfer case shift control module. Test the neutral signal circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Testing for Short to Ground . Did you find and correct the condition?	Go to Step 5	Go to Step 6
5	Replace the transfer case neutral switch. Refer to Transfer Case Neutral Switch Replacement . Did you complete the repair?	Go to Step 7	-
6	Replace the transfer case shift control module. Refer to Control Module References for replacement, setup, and programming. Did you complete the repair	Go to Step 7	-
7	Operate the vehicle in order to determine if the symptom has been corrected. Is the symptom still present?	Go to Step 1	System OK
