Removal Procedure

- Release the park brake.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
- Pull down on the park brake cable near the park brake connector (1).
- Disconnect the left rear park brake cable (2) from the rear equalizer (1).
- Disconnect the right rear park brake cable (5) from the intermediate park brake cable (3).
- Remove the rear park brake cable from the park brake actuator lever.
- Remove the rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement (J55) or Rear Brake Rotor Replacement (JL9) .
- Remove the park brake shoe. Refer to Park Brake Shoe Replacement .
- Remove the actuator lever from the backing plate.
