Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Rear (FE7)

Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Rear (FE7)

Callout Component Name
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
Fastener Tightening Specifications:  Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications (FE1, FE3)  or Fastener Tightening Specifications (FE7) .

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  3. Remove the rear brake rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement (J55) or Rear Brake Rotor Replacement (JL9) .
  4. Remove the ABS sensor. Refer to Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement .
  5. Remove the wheel speed sensor ring. Refer to Wheel Speed Sensor Ring Replacement - Rear .
1 Rear Wheel Hub/Bearing Bolt (Qty: 4)
Tip:  Disconnect the park brake cable from the backing plate.

Tighten:  152 N.m (112 lb ft)

2 Backing Plate
Tip:  Pull the backing plate from the control arm to remove.
3 Rear Wheel Bearing Nut

Tighten:  200 N.m (147 lb ft)

4 Rear Wheel Bearing Washer
Tip:  Remove the washer from the hub.
5 Rear Wheel Hub
Tip:  Remove the hub from the bearing.
6 Rear Wheel Bearing
Tip:  Press the wheel bearing out the rear of the backing plate.
