Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Cadillac DTS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
IMPORTANT: The control arm nuts should be tightened with the vehicle unsupported and resting on the wheels at the normal trim height.

  1. Install the control arm to the rear suspension support assembly.
  2. Install the hub and bearing, if necessary. Refer to Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Rear (FE1, FE3)  or Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Rear (FE7) .
    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  3. Install a new stabilizer link bolt and nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the new stabilizer link bolt nut to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

  4. Install the rear suspension support assembly. Refer to Support Replacement - Rear (W/FE1, FE3) or Support Replacement - Rear (W/FE7) .

  6. Install the support bracket bolts (1).
  7. Lower the vehicle to obtain trim height.
  8. Tighten the control arm nuts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the control arm nuts to 149 N.m (110 lb ft).

  9. Lower the vehicle.
