DTC Diagnosis Procedure

NOTE: SYMBOL The Signal Tech II Tool [- (NI-50190)] can be used to perform the following functions: Refer to the Signal Tech II User Guide for additional information.
  • Activate and display TPMS sensor IDs
  • Display tire pressure reported by the TPMS sensor
  • Read TPMS DTCs
  • Register TPMS sensor IDs
  1. CHECK FUSES 
    1. Check that the following fuses are not blown:
      Terminal No. Signal name Fuse No. Capacity
      161 BCM power supply 2 5 A
      167 Power door lock 1 power supply 11 20 A
      168 Flashers power supply 14 10 A
      169 Stop lamp power supply 49 10 A
      175 Power door lock 2 power supply 12 15 A
      176 Windshield washer power supply 10 15 A
      95 BCM power supply 38 5 A

    Is the fuse blown?

    YES>>

    Replace the blown fuse after repairing the affected circuit.

    NO>>

    GO TO 2.

  2. CHECK POWER SUPPLY CIRCUITS 
      1. Disconnect BCM connector.
      2. Check voltage between BCM harness connector and ground.
        (+) (-) Voltage(Approx.)
        BCM
        Connector Terminal
        M304 95 Ground Battery voltage

        168
        169
        175
        176

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES>>

    GO TO 3.

    NO>>

    Repair or replace harness or connectors.

  3. CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT 
    1. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and ground.
      BCM - Continuity
      Connector Terminal
      M20 170 Ground Yes

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES>>

    GO TO 4.

    NO>>

    Repair or replace harness or connectors.

  4. CHECK PUSH-BUTTON IGNITION SWITCH OUTPUT SIGNAL 
      1. Ignition switch OFF.
      2. Connect BCM connector.
      3. Disconnect push-button ignition switch connector and IPDM E/R connector E120.
      4. Check voltage between push-button ignition switch harness connector and ground.
        (+) (-) Voltage(Approx.)
        Push-button ignition switch
        Connector Terminal
        M17 5 Ground Battery voltage

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES>>

    GO TO 6.

    NO>>

    GO TO 5.

  5. CHECK PUSH-BUTTON IGNITION SWITCH CIRCUIT (BCM) 
      1. Disconnect BCM connector.
      2. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and push-button ignition switch harness connector.
        BCM Push-button ignition switch Continuity
        Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
        M304 89 M17 5 Yes
      3. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and ground.
        BCM - Continuity
        Connector Terminal
        M304 89 Ground No

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES>>

    Replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation .

    NO>>

    Repair or replace harness or connectors.

  6. CHECK PUSH-BUTTON IGNITION SWITCH CIRCUIT (IPDM E/R) 
      1. Disconnect BCM connector.
      2. Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector and BCM harness connector.
        IPDM E/R BCM Continuity
        Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
        E120 32 M304 89 Yes
      3. Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector and ground.
        IPDM E/R - Continuity
        Connector Terminal
        E120 32 Ground No

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES>>

    Replace IPDM E/R. Refer to Removal and Installation .

    NO>>

    Repair or replace harness or connectors.
