DTC Diagnosis Procedure

NOTE: SYMBOL The Signal Tech II Tool [- (NI-50190)] can be used to perform the following functions: Refer to the Signal Tech II User Guide for additional information.
  • Activate and display TPMS sensor IDs
  • Display tire pressure reported by the TPMS sensor
  • Read TPMS DTCs
  • Register TPMS sensor IDs
  1. CHECK REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY RECEIVER POWER SUPPLY 
    1. Check voltage between remote keyless entry receiver harness connector and ground.
      (+) (-) Voltage(Approx.)
      Remote keyless entry receiver
      Connector Terminal
      M312 1 Ground Battery voltage

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES>>

    GO TO 3.

    NO>>

    GO TO 2.

  2. CHECK REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY RECEIVER POWER CIRCUIT 
      1. Ignition switch OFF.
      2. Check 10A fuse (#20).
      3. Disconnect fuse block (J/B) connector and remote keyless entry receiver connector.
      4. Check continuity between remote keyless entry receiver harness connector and fuse block (J/B) harness connector.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES>>

    GO TO 3.

    NO>>

    Repair or replace harness or connectors.

  3. CHECK REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY RECEIVER CIRCUIT 
      1. Disconnect BCM connector.
      2. Check the continuity between BCM harness connector and remote keyless entry receiver harness connector.

      3. Check the continuity between BCM harness connector and ground.
        BCM - Continuity
        Connector Terminal
        M18 30 Ground No
        M304 102

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES>>

    GO TO 4.

    NO>>

    Repair or replace malfunctioning components.

  4. TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR ID REGISTRATION 
      1. Connect fuse block (J/B) harness connector.
      2. Reconnect BCM connector and remote keyless entry receiver connector.
      3. Perform tire pressure sensor ID registration. Refer to Description .

    Can the tire pressure sensor ID registration be completed?

    YES>>

    GO TO 5.

    NO>>

    Replace applicable tire pressure sensor. Refer to Removal and Installation .

  5. RECHECK TIRE PRESSURE SIGNAL 
    1. SYMBOL CONSULT
      1. Drive at a speed of 16 mph (25 km/h) or more for 3 minutes, and then drive the vehicle at any speed for 10 minutes.
        NOTE: SYMBOL Avoid driving in areas with radio interference.
      2. Stop the vehicle.
      3. Select "Data Monitor" mode of "AIR PRESSURE MONITOR".
      4. Check that the air pressures match the specified value.

        AIR PRESS FL Approximately equal to the indication on tire gauge value for front LH tire
        AIR PRESS FR Approximately equal to the indication on tire gauge value for front RH tire
        AIR PRESS RR Approximately equal to the indication on tire gauge value for rear RH tire
        AIR PRESS RL Approximately equal to the indication on tire gauge value for rear LH tire

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES>>

    After erasing DTC record, Inspection End.

    NO>>

    Replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation .
