Diagnosis Procedure
- CHECK THE ILLUMINATION OF THE POWER STEERING WARNING LAMP

- Start the engine.CAUTION:
Never drive the vehicle.
- Check that the power steering warning lamp turns OFF.
- Start the engine.
Does the power steering warning lamp turn OFF?
YES>>
GO TO 2.
NO>>
Select "Self Diagnostic Result" mode of "EPS/DAST 3", "DAST 1" and "DAST 2".

- CONFIRM THAT STEERING WHEEL IS INDEXED CORRECTLY

- Remove driver air bag module. Refer to Removal and Installation .
- Verify that the alignment index mark on the steering shaft (B) is in line with the index mark on the steering wheel (A).
Is the steering wheel indexed correctly?
YES>>
Reinstall driver air bag module. Refer to Removal and Installation . GO TO 3.
NO>>
Remove steering wheel and realign correctly. Refer to Removal and Installation . GO TO 3.

- CONFIRM THAT STEERING SHAFT IS INDEXED CORRECTLY
- Confirm that steering shaft is indexed correctly. Perform "INSPECTION AFTER INSTALLATION". Refer to Removal and Installation .
Is the steering shaft indexed correctly?
YES>>
GO TO 4.
NO>>
Disconnect the lower joint from the steering gear and realign correctly. Refer to Removal and Installation . GO TO 4.
- CHECK SUSPENSION
- Check suspension.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>
GO TO 5.
NO>>
Install suspension parts properly. Then perform the toe-in adjustment. Refer to Inspection and Adjustment .
- PERFORM ADDITIONAL SERVICE WHEN REPLACING CONTROL MODULE
- Perform additional service when replacing control module. Refer to Work Procedure" .NOTE:
Steps 2 and 3 of the Work Procedure are not required.

GO TO 6.
- Perform additional service when replacing control module. Refer to Work Procedure" .
- FINAL CHECK
- Recheck the symptom and check that symptom is not reproduced on the same conditions.
