Removal and Installation

REMOVAL 

1. Partially drain engine coolant from radiator. Refer to Draining .
   CAUTION:

   • Perform this step when engine is cold.
2. Remove the front air duct. Refer to Exploded View .
3. Remove the battery tray. Refer to Removal and Installation .
4. Remove clamps and remove the radiator hose (upper), water hose A, water hose B and heater hose from the multi-way control valve.
5. Disconnect the harness connector from the engine coolant temperature sensor 1.
6. Remove the engine coolant temperature sensor 1 from the multi-way control valve.
   CAUTION:

   Do not reuse the copper sealing washer.

7. Disconnect the harness connector from the multi-way control valve.
8. Loosen multi-way control valve bolts in reverse of the sequence shown in the illustration and remove the multi-way control valve.

   CAUTION:

   Do not reuse O-ring.

INSTALLATION 

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

• Tighten the multi-way control valve bolts to the specified torque in the sequence shown in the illustration.

  : 25 N.m (2.6 kg-m, 18 ft-lb)

• Refill the engine coolant. Refer to Refilling .
