Removal and Installation
REMOVAL
- Partially drain engine coolant from radiator. Refer to Draining .CAUTION:
- Perform this step when engine is cold.
- Remove the front air duct. Refer to Exploded View .
- Remove the battery tray. Refer to Removal and Installation .
- Remove clamps and remove the radiator hose (upper), water hose A, water hose B and heater hose from the multi-way control valve.
- Disconnect the harness connector from the engine coolant temperature sensor 1.
- Remove the engine coolant temperature sensor 1 from the multi-way control valve.CAUTION:
Do not reuse the copper sealing washer.
- Disconnect the harness connector from the multi-way control valve.
- Loosen multi-way control valve bolts in reverse of the sequence shown in the illustration and remove the multi-way control valve.CAUTION:
Do not reuse O-ring.
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
CAUTION:
Do not reuse O-ring.
- Tighten the multi-way control valve bolts to the specified torque in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Multi-way control valve bolts : 25 N.m (2.6 kg-m, 18 ft-lb) - Refill the engine coolant. Refer to Refilling .
