Removal And Installation: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Drain the transfer oil. Refer to DRAINING .
  2. Remove exhaust manifold (RH). Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION (BANK 1) .
    CAUTION:

    Handle carefully to avoid any shock to three way catalyst.

  3. Support transaxle with a suitable jack.
  4. Remove the steering gear. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION - FWD (FWD) or REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION - AWD (AWD).
  5. Remove rear gusset and transfer gusset.
  6. Remove transaxle assembly to transfer assembly bolts.
    CAUTION:

    Be careful not to damage gear ring oil seal inside of CVT.

  7. Remove transfer assembly from the vehicle.
    CAUTION:
    • Do not damage air breather hose.
    • After removing transfer from transaxle, always replace differential side oil seal of the transaxle side with new one.
