Removal & Installation
- Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM
. Remove lower instrument panel cover assembly. Remove connector bracket from air bag module harness connector and disconnect air bag module connector.
- Remove glove box assembly. Remove Torx bolts securing passenger-side air bag module to steering wheel member. See Fig 1
. Being careful not to impact air bag module, move module toward rear of vehicle. Pull module downward between instrument panel and steering wheel member to remove.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten passenger-side air bag module Torx bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
. Activate air bag system.
