Disabling & Activating Air Bag System
WARNING:
Accidental air bag deployment is possible. Personal injury may result. Air bag system voltage is maintained for at least 3 minutes after system is disabled. Wait at least 3 minutes after disabling air bag system before servicing.
- To disable air bag system, turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect negative, then positive battery cables. Wait at least 3 minutes before working on or near air bag system components.
- To activate air bag system, ensure ignition switch is in OFF position. Connect positive, then negative battery cables. Check AIR BAG and seat belt warning lights for proper operation. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
