Removal & Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Infiniti FX45 and 2004 Infiniti FX35. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS  . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  .
  2. Remove passenger-side lower instrument panel. Remove glove box assembly. On models with navigation system and tire pressure systems, remove navigation and pressure control units. On all models, disconnect passenger-side air bag module connector. Remove passenger-side air bag module nuts and bolt and discard. See Fig 1 . Remove passenger-side air bag module.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten NEW passenger-side air bag module mounting nuts and bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Activate air bag system.
