Inspection Procedure

- INSPECT ABS WARNING LIGHT
WHEN USING HAND-HELD TESTER:
- Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3 and start the engine.
- Select the item "ABS WARN LIGHT" in the ACTIVE TEST and operate the ABS warning light on the hand-held tester display.
- Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the ABS warning light can be shown on the combination meter by the hand-held tester.
Standard:
- The ABS warning light is turned ON or OFF in accordance with the hand-held tester.
WHEN NOT USING HAND-HELD TESTER:
- Turn the ignition switch off and disconnect the connector from the skid control ECU.
- Ground terminal WA of the skid control ECU.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Check that the ABS warning light goes off.
Standard:
- The light is turned ON or OFF in accordance with the connecting condition of the terminal GND and WA.
OK: REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY (SEE REPLACEMENT )
NOTE: When replacing the Brake Actuator assy, perform zero point calibration (see PRE-CHECK ).NG: Go to next step.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - COMBINATION METER)
- Disconnect the combination meter connector C7 and the skid control ECU connector S1.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in Fig 4
.
Standard
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in Fig 5
.
