DTC Information And Inspection: DTC Detecting Condition

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • Plausibility Check
  1. Poor connector connection
  2. Short to ground in harness
  3. Faulty IAT sensor
Enable Condition Case 1
  • Engine running
  • Battery voltage
  • Failure not detected for DTC
  • Engine Coolant Temperature
  • Coolant temperature at engine start - coolant temperature at engine at pervious driving cycle
  • Cumulative time for IAT signal increase check (low load driving condition: airflow is lower than 20 kg/h and vehicle speed is lower than 20 km/h (12.4 mph))
  • Cumulative time for IAT signal decrease check (high load driving condition: air flow 40 kg/h and vehicle speed is higher than 40 km/h (24.8 mph)
Case 2
  • Ignition "ON"
  • Battery voltage is higher than 6V
  • No Intake Air Temp. (IAT) sensor electrical error
Threshold Value Case 1
  • Intake air temperature signal variation since engine start is lower than 0.75°C (33.5F) versus air temperature at start
Case 2
  • Difference between IATS and IAT moving mean value is higher than 8°C (46.4F)
Diagnostic Time Case 1
  • Continuous (10 minutes)
Case 2
  • 0.5 seconds
MIL ON Condition
  • 2 driving cycles
