Detecting Condition |
Possible Cause |
| DTC Strategy |
|
- Poor connector connection
- Short to ground in harness
- Faulty IAT sensor
|
| Enable Condition |
Case 1 |
- Engine running
- Battery voltage
- Failure not detected for DTC
- Engine Coolant Temperature
- Coolant temperature at engine start - coolant temperature at engine at pervious driving cycle
- Cumulative time for IAT signal increase check (low load driving condition: airflow is lower than 20 kg/h and vehicle speed is lower than 20 km/h (12.4 mph))
- Cumulative time for IAT signal decrease check (high load driving condition: air flow 40 kg/h and vehicle speed is higher than 40 km/h (24.8 mph)
|
| Case 2 |
- Ignition "ON"
- Battery voltage is higher than 6V
- No Intake Air Temp. (IAT) sensor electrical error
|
| Threshold Value |
Case 1 |
- Intake air temperature signal variation since engine start is lower than 0.75°C (33.5F) versus air temperature at start
|
| Case 2 |
- Difference between IATS and IAT moving mean value is higher than 8°C (46.4F)
