DTC Information And Inspection: DTC Detecting Condition

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy Case 1
  • Sensor signal cycle check
  1. Poor connector connection
  2. Sensor contamination by foreign matter (water etc.)
  3. Blockage or damage to intake system
  4. Faulty MAFS
Case 2, 3
  • Sensor diagnostic error signal check
Enable Condition Case 1
  • Engine running condition
  • Battery voltage between 11 and 16V
  • Time after engine start is more than 0.5s
  • Time after Ignition "ON" is more than 0.8s
Case 2
  • Battery voltage between 11 and 16V
  • At engine start-up, engine speed between 928 and 1312 RPM (depends on coolant temperature)
  • Pressure rate (intake manifold pressure/barometric pressure) is less than 0.8
Case 3
  • Battery voltage between 11 and 16V
  • At engine start-up, engine speed between 928 and 1312 RPM (depends on coolant temperature)
  • Pressure rate (intake manifold pressure/barometric pressure) is more than 0.8
Threshold Value Case 1
  • Sensor signal cycle is short: Sensor signal cycle is less than 85μs and calculated air volume is more than 655kg/h
  • Sensor signal cycle is long: Sensor signal cycle is more than 555μs and calculated air volume is less than 7kg/h
Case 2
  • Air intake area correction value is lower than -90% to -40%, and higher than 40% to 90% (depends on barometric pressure and throttle position)
Case 3
  • Air intake area correction value is lower than -30% to -20%, and higher than 20% to 30% (depends on barometric pressure)
Diagnostic Time Case 1
  • 2 seconds
Case 2, 3
  • 5 seconds
MIL ON Condition
  • 2 driving cycles
