DTC Information And Inspection: DTC Detecting Condition

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy Enable Condition Case 1
  • Deviation check between actual CAM position and CAM setpoint position in the case of changing setpoint (slow response from actuator)
  1. Poor connector connection
  2. Oil leak
  3. Engine oil contamination
  4. Faulty exhaust VFS
  5. Exhaust VFS filter contamination
  6. Faulty CWT assembly (exhaust)
Case 2
  • Deviation check between actual CAM position and CAM setpoint position (steady deviation)
Enable Condition Case 1
  • CWT control active
  • Camshaft setpoint moving by higher than 12° within 0.70s
  • Camshaft setpoint moved more than 5 times since engine start
  • Battery voltage between 11 and 16V
  • Engine speed between 600 to (1500 - 5000 RPM
  • No relevant failure
  • Engine oil temperature between 20°C (68°F) and 110°C (230°F)
Case 2
  • CWT control active
  • Camshaft setpoint moved more than 5 times since engine start
  • Camshaft setpoint not close to full retard position
  • Battery voltage between 11 and 16V
  • Engine speed between 600 to (1500 - 5000 RPM
  • No relevant failure
  • Engine oil temperature between 20°C (68°F) and 110°C (230°F)
Threshold Value Case 1
  • Camshaft position movement is less than 3.4° within 0.8s (with camshaft setpoint moving by 12°)
Case 2
  • Difference between camshaft actual/setpoint position value less than 907s
Diagnostic Time Case 1
  • 600s
Case 2
  • 180s
MIL ON Condition
  • 2 driving cycles
