Variable Force Valve - Exhaust
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
The Continuously Variable Valve Timing (CVVT) system is installed on the chain sprocket of the intake camshaft. This system controls the intake camshaft to provide the optimal valve timing for all driving conditions. The PCM controls the Variable Force Solenoid (VFS), based on the signals from the throttle position sensor, map and engine coolant temperature sensor. The PCM regulates the intake camshaft angle using oil pressure through the VFS. As result, the relative position between the camshaft and the crankshaft becomes optimal. Engine torque and fuel economy improves with reduced exhaust emissions.
