DTC C16B8-81: AEB Communication Error: General Description
Smart Cruise Control (SCC) has additional function which helps to keep safety distance from the car ahead as compared with conventional Cruise Control. Control step is as follows.
- SCC detects forward vehicle with Radar sensor.
- SCC calculates acceleration value according to distance and speed.
- SCC transmits acceleration request to ABS/ESP Control Unit by Controller Area Network (CAN) communication.
- When deceleration is needed, ABS/ESP performs brake control. But when acceleration is needed, ABS/ESP calculates engine torque request and send it to Engine Control Module (ECM) through CAN communication.
- ECM performs acceleration control after receiving torque request.
