DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
Case 1 DTC Strategy
  • During engine running check accuracy of time measurement by Engine-off timer micro-com.
  1. Poor connection or damaged harness
  2. Unstable Power
  3. Faulty PCM
Enable Conditions
  • Engine running greater than 10 sec.
  • Battery voltage greater than 8 V
Threshold Value
  • Compare Engine-off timer time measurement with Engine running timer
Diagnostic Time
  • Immediate
Case 2 DTC Strategy
  • During Engine stop, check Engine-off timer start increment.
Enable Conditions
  • Transition engine running (N > 32 RPM) Engine stopped (N < 32 RPM)
  • Battery voltage is between 11 V and 16 V
Threshold Value
  • Engine-off timer after 2 sec. engine stop < 1 sec. or > 4 sec.
Diagnostic Time
  • 2 sec.
MIL On Condition
  • 2 Driving Cycles
