■ Accelerator Pedal Rod Inspection

Verify that the accelerator pedal operate freely without binding between full closed and wide open position by operating the accelerator pedal.
Check for poor carpet fit under the accelerator controls pedal.
Repair or replace as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure. If OK, go to next step below.

■ Accelerator Pedal Voltage Inspection

Connect APS connector.
IG "ON".
Check sensor data below.

Data Analysis

Condition		GDS Sensor Data
Condition		APS 1	APS 2
IG Key "ON & Engine OFF"	Output voltages of APS1 and APS2 are in proportion to accelerating. APS2 output voltage is half of APS1 output voltage.
	Release a pedal fully	0.58~0.93 V	0.29~0.47 V
	Depress a pedal fully	3.85~4.35 V	1.93~2.18 V

Is data in accordance with "Data Analysis"?
YES
- Check for poor connection between PCM and component: backed out terminal, improper mating, broken locks or poor terminal to wire connection. Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Substitute with a known-good component and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace component and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
