DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible cause
Case 1 DTC Strategy
  • Monitoring open position of VCM flap
  1. VCMA stuck by carbon or foreign objects in intake manifold
  2. Poor connection or damaged harness
  3. Damaged linkage
  4. VCM
Enable Conditions
  • 0.4 sec. after the flap reaching target position
  • Battery voltage is between 10 V and 16 V
  • IG ON
Threshold value
  • Output voltage of VCM position is between 2.7 and 3.3 V while the flap is in open position.
Case 2 DTC Strategy
  • Monitoring close position of VCM flap
Enable Conditions
  • 0.4 sec. after the flap reaching target position
  • Battery voltage is between 10 V and 16 V
  • IG ON
Threshold value
  • Output voltage of VCM position is over 2.3 V or below 1.2 V while the flap is in close position.
Case 3 DTC Strategy
  • Open stuck check
Enable Conditions
  • 1.3 second after flap position changing from open to close (from close to open)
  • Battery voltage is between 11 V and 16 V
  • IG ON
Threshold value
  • Output voltage of VCM position is between 2.5 and 2.6 V.
Case 4 DTC Strategy
  • Flap position check
Enable Conditions
  • 1.3 second after flap position changing from open to close (from close to open)
  • Battery voltage is between 11 V and 16 V
  • IG ON
Threshold value
  • Output voltage of VCM position is between 3.8 and 4.3 V or between 0.75 and 1.2 V.
Diagnosis Time Case 1, 2
  • Immediately
Case 3, 4
  • 0.3 sec.
MIL On Condition
  • 2 Driving Cycles
