Component Inspection

IG "OFF".
Connect probes to motor control terminals of VCM motor and signal terminal of VCM position sensor respectively.
Start the engine.
Monitor waveforms while step on and off the accelerator pedal by using VMI.
Specification: Signal waveform will be displayed as follows.
Is the waveform within the specification?
YES
- Check for poor connection between PCM and component: backed out terminal, improper mating, broken locks or PCM wire connection. Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Disassemble VCMA and Intake Manifold and check stuck by carbon or foreign object. Check the component for deterioration, or damage.

- If there is no objects can be a cause of making flap stuck open, substitute with a known-good component and check operation. If the problem is corrected, replace the component and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure
