Signal Circuit Inspection

■ Check open in harness 

1. IG "OFF". Disconnect stop lamp switch and ECM and Stop Signal Electronic Module connector.
2. Measure resistance between both ends of Brake Lamp Switch line.
3. Measure resistance of line between Stop Lamp Switch and Stop Signal Electronic Module.
4. Measure resistance of line between ECM and Stop Signal Electronic Module.
5. Measure resistance between Brake Light Switch terminal of Switch harness connector and chassis ground.
6. Measure resistance between Brake Test Switch terminal of Switch harness connector and chassis ground.
7. Measure resistance between Brake Test Switch terminal of PCM harness connector and chassis ground.

   Specification:  Below 1Ω (step 2/3/4), Infinite (step 5/6/7)

8. Is resistance within specification?

   YES 

   • Go to "COMPONENT INSPECTION " procedure.

   NO 

   • In case of step 2/3/4: Repair Open in signal circuit and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
   • In case of step 5/6/7: Repair Short in signal circuit and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
