Signal Circuit Inspection

■ Check Open or Short in signal circuit 

1. IG "OFF".
2. Disconnect CMPS connector.
3. IG "ON" & ENG "OFF".
4. Measure the voltage between signal terminal of CMPS harness connector and chassis ground.

   Specification:  Approx 5 V

5. Is the measured voltage within specification?

   YES 

   • Go to "Check Short to power in signal circuit" procedure below.

   NO 

   • Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

■ Check Short to power in signal circuit 

1. IG "OFF".
2. Disconnect Knock sensor connector and ECM connector.
3. Measure the resistance between power and signal terminal of CMPS harness connector.

   Specification:  Infinite

4. Is the measured resistance within specification?

   YES 

   • Go to "GROUND CIRCUIT INSPECTION " procedure.

   NO 

   • Repair Short to ground in signal circuit and then, go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
