Control Circuit Inspection

■ Check Short to power

IG "OFF".
Disconnect Ignition Coil connector.
IG "ON" & ENG "OFF".
Measure the voltage between Ignition Coil control terminal of Ignition Coil harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification: Approx. 0 V

Is the measured voltage within specification?
YES
- Go to "Check Short to ground" procedure below.
NO
- Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

■ Check Short to ground

IG "OFF".
Disconnect Ignition Coil connector and ECM connector.
Measure the resistance between Ignition Coil control terminal of Ignition Coil harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification: Infinite

Is the measured resistance within specification?
YES
- Go to "COMPONENT INSPECTION " procedure.
NO
- Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
